November Recap
Dessert Dialogues Provide Discussion and Delights
The first three dessert dialogues sessions were extremely enjoyable and informative. We had about 20-25 participants on each of the 3 days, and people from all different parts and departments of the school dropped in to offer thoughtful reflections over delicious desserts. The questions we discussed and some of the takeaway themes are summarized in the following document.
November Question of the Month:
What would the school point out as the greatest strengths of its overall educational program?
We are a school that is dedicated to inspiring and challenging our students, that they may discover their fullest potential as learners, leaders, and global citizens. While we are a big institution, students find support and encouragement for their interests and passions through individualized experiences and opportunities to explore and reflect on their learning in depth. The diverse faculty is bound together by a commitment to excellence and share the qualities of restless exploration and a spirit of discovery. It is through this restlessness that we continually aspire and seek to support learning through innovative curriculum and creative environments that nurture learning. We push ourselves to the edges, to the precipices; we take risks and bravely face the unknown - all the while inviting dialogue, inventing ideas and embracing new tools and strategies. We are a hot spot of learning, never resting or finding contentment in being good, but knowing that the best learning lies in tenaciously challenging ourselves.
